Are you an MLO? Have you completed your annual training? If not, this is the webinar for you. Besides addressing the required policies/procedures and the registration process, it will also include an overview of the federal MLO requirements in Regulation Z. In addition, you’ll learn the ins and outs of SAFE Act compliance. Join us to discover nine steps for the annual SAFE Act audit and five common danger zones. What does it mean to be a mortgage loan originator (MLO)? Are the MLOs at your financial institution following all the requirements? There are mandated registration procedures and a requirement to perform an annual independent audit. This webinar will address these rules, cover the SAFE Act requirements, provide an overview of the Loan Originator Compensation Rules, reveal five common SAFE Act violations, and offer nine steps for a SAFE Act audit. The concise summary of federal regulations that apply to mortgage lending will augment the overall MLO training requirements.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
  • Know who must be registered and understand which employees meet the definition of a “mortgage loan originator” and which are exempt
  • Conquer the steps that must be taken in the initial and subsequent registration process, including proper use of forms, criminal background checks, fingerprinting, and MLO registration submission
  • Verify the required policies, procedures, and compensation rules
  • Complete nine required steps for the annual audit
  • Understand that loan originators are required to receive periodic training commensurate with their day-to-day origination responsibilities
