This webinar will cover the basics of consumer lending including the consumer loan function, marketing consumer loans, and making consumer lending decisions based on the five (5) C’s of credit: capacity, capital, collateral, conditions, and character.
 
The attendee will also be exposed to loan structure, loan support, and documentation issues and how they are an intricate part of the consumer lending process. An “auto loan,” “RV loan,” and “home equity line of credit” (HELOC) will be utilized as examples throughout the session.
 
Additionally, the basics of consumer loan compliance will be provided including Reg B, Reg Z, TRID, BSA, and Fair Credit Reporting.
 
The bank’s consumer lending function will be illustrated through “case studies.”

David L. Osburn, Osburn & Associates, LLC
David Osburn is the founder of Osburn & Associates, LLC, a Business Training & Contract CFO firm that specializes in providing seminars, webinars, and keynote speeches to CPAs, bankers, attorneys, credit managers, and business owners on topics such as Banking/Finance/Credit, Negotiation Skills, Marketing, Management Issues. David also functions as a Contract CFO and works with medical practitioners, CPA firms, construction companies, financial institutions, and real estate developers. He has been an adjunct college professor with over 30 years of teaching experience. David’s extensive professional background encompasses over 24 years as a Business Trainer/Contract CFO and 16 years in banking (commercial lending) including the position of Vice President/ Senior Banking Officer. His banking credentials include loan underwriting, customer development, management, and loan “workout.”
 
David has an MBA in Finance/Marketing from Utah State University and a BS degree in Finance from Brigham Young University. He is also a graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School held at the University of Oklahoma.  Additionally, he holds the professional designation of Certified Credit & Risk Analyst (CCRA) as granted by the National Association of Credit Management (NACM).

Registration fee is per person. The webinar will be conducted via Zoom. You will receive connection information prior to the program. The registration deadline is Monday, February 2, 2026. Cancellation Policy: Written cancellation, email accepted, must be received on or before Friday, January 23, 2026, and will be subject to a $75 cancellation fee. NO refunds will be granted after Friday, January 23, 2026; however, a substitute may attend. ICBC reserves the right to cancel any program for which there are insufficient funds to cover the expense of the program. In the event of cancellation by ICBC registration fees will be refunded.
